MedAscend joins the University of Gloucestershire's FutureSim centre
MedAscend will support Nursing, Paramedic and Professional Policing students at Oxstalls Campus as part of the University of Gloucestershire's new FutureSim immersive learning vision.
We had a brilliant visit yesterday to Oxstalls Campus at the University of Gloucestershire to see the new FutureSim centre, where MedAscend is being implemented as part of an exciting wider vision for simulation and immersive learning.
It was great to meet Simon Kersey again and see first-hand the thought and investment going into the space. What stood out was just how intentionally everything has been designed. From dedicated consultation pods to simulated wards and flats fully decorated for immersive practice, this is a genuinely impressive environment for realistic, high-fidelity learning.
Through this partnership, MedAscend will support a broad cohort of learners, including Nursing, Paramedic and Professional Policing students, helping expand access to scalable, realistic communication practice within these immersive settings. Embedding AI-simulated encounters alongside the physical environments means learners can move fluidly between conversations, clinical reasoning and hands-on practice - building confidence in a way that mirrors the real world.
"There is a clear focus on creating realistic, high-quality learning environments that give students more opportunities to build confidence before practice."
It was genuinely exciting to see the direction Gloucestershire is taking with FutureSim and the scale of ambition behind it. Initiatives like this are exactly why MedAscend exists: to give institutions the tools to scale practice without compromising on realism, feedback quality, or assessability.
Really excited to be part of it, and looking forward to what we build together with the team at Gloucestershire.
